NEW YEAR--BAH HUMBUG!!!!

I don't get excited at all over New Year celebrations. I never have and never will. Birthdays are better, and they aren't that special once you've had a bunch already. Perhaps my 60th birthday will be better. Then I can go to ISU and take some fun classes if I am brave.
For Christmas I got many gifts. It took me a while to open everything. I love getting presents, but I want less next year I think. I'm too greedy, and I would like to share with others who get less. I also want to enjoy it even more---the season, the music, the lights etc. I want a little of the magic back. That's what is missing I think----the magic. Or maybe the magic is the reason it's hard to let go of it. Who knows?
I know a lot of you don't like the snow and cold after Christmas ends, but it is the one thing I do like. there is nothing better than the bitter cold to make a person feel snuggly and warm in the house. That's especially true at night when it's time for bed. To snuggle down into my warm bed, but feel the cold on my face is ecstasy. I like what I like. I Wouldn't like it much if what I had to snuggle into was my sleeping bag and cardboard box. Being homeless during this time of year has got to be so sad and horrid.
Here are a few belated Christmas photos for all of you to look at. I am including one of our Christmas Day snowstorm as well. We got a whole lot more of the white stuff than was necessary, but at least it was a White Christmas. So, Happy New Year to everyone. May it go by quickly and without incidence and be Christmas 2009 in no time at all. TTFN!

It all looks very merry and bright. You had a hiney load of presents under that tree for just the 4 of you. One of my favorite things is to go to bed at night all snuggly and warm. I really love the feeling of going to bed safe and sound and getting to go to sleep. It makes me VERY appreciative to have that necessity of life especially because I know there are many people in the world who suffer for want of such basic things.

Those gifts weren't just for the four of us. Robert's, and Sadie's and Sophie's from Robert were there too. But, it was still a big load of gifts. By the way, as of yet, I have not done a thing for anyone for next Christmas. I really am going to wait. Well, actually I am working on a craft which may or may not be a gift. However, I look at that differently. I will continue to make the craft items that I have here. But they can even be birthday gifts. I really, truly do want to do things differently now. I also want to do more of the homemade items.

I went shopping at our mall yesterday to a store called Younkers. They have the cutest clothes for kids and I was able to get winter coats for Mia, Halle, and Emma for next Christmas. They were originally $60 and sold for $18. I also got some cute outfits for Ava - 4 in all and they cost a total of $27. What a deal! Oh how I love deals!
